American researchers confirm the benefit of yogurt in reducing high blood pressure in the elderly

Researchers at the American University of Medicine School of Medicine have found that consuming yogurt can help reduce high blood pressure in elderly people who suffer from high levels.


High blood pressure is the leading cause of heart disease and death, a major risk factor for stroke, and diabetes, and diet has long been suggested as a way to lower blood pressure levels.


In the current study, the research team examined the relationship between yogurt consumption and blood pressure among older adults with or without high blood pressure. They analyzed cross-sectional data for 915 adults (with an average age of 62.1 years), and the team revealed a significant reduction in blood pressure.
