Inter Milan kick off the title defense against Genoa in the Italian league

Inter Milan will begin the journey to defend the title when it meets its counterpart Genoa at 6:30 pm today, Saturday, at the "Giuseppe Meazza" stadium, in the opening matches of the Italian Serie A championship "Calcio" for the new season 2021/2022.

The Italian team, Inter Milan, is playing the Genoa match in the spirit of the champion, as it won the title last season, and is looking forward to defending it this season, especially since it got it for the first time from the 2009-2010 season under the leadership of Jose Mourinho.

Inter Milan contracted a new coach, Simone Inzaghi, after the departure of former coach Antonio Conte by mutual agreement, as several press reports confirmed that he had entered into a dispute with the administration due to the financial austerity plan, and the decision to dispense with some stars.

The Inter Milan team will be affected by the departure of the duo Ashraf Hakimi and Romelu Lukaku in particular, especially as he was the goal of the Nerazzurri and the competition's top scorer behind Cristiano Ronaldo, the Juventus striker last season.

The current summer transfer period witnessed a great deal of activity from Inter Milan, as the Italian champions signed a number of players, led by the Bosnian Edin Dzeko from Rome and the Turkish Hakan Chahalanoglu from Milan for free, and Denzel Domfries from Eindhoven for 12.5 million euros.

Inter Milan returned to training last July, about a month and a half after the end of last season.

Inter Milan played 4 friendly matches this summer, starting with a 2-2 draw with Swiss Lugano, on July 17.

After that, Inter achieved 3 consecutive victories over Crotone 6-0, Parma 2-0, and Dynamo Kiev 3-0.

It is noteworthy that Inter Milan seeks to preserve its title in the Italian League, which it achieved last season after an absence of 11 years, and is also participating in the European Champions League for the fourth consecutive season.
