Russian security thwarts terrorist acts of ISIS in Moscow and Astrakhan region

The Russian Federal Security Service announced that it had thwarted terrorist acts that members of the terrorist organization ISIS were planning to carry out in the Russian capital, Moscow, and the Astrakhan region in southern Russia.

A statement by the Russian Federal Security Service indicated today, Thursday, that it had thwarted the preparation of terrorist acts by members of the Islamic State organization, which is banned in Russia.

"The two Russians, on the instructions of the leaders of the terrorist organization ISIS, planned to simultaneously attack places crowded with citizens in the city of Moscow and the Astrakhan region using firearms and knives," the statement added.

He pointed out that one of the criminals in the Astrakhan province resisted the security forces during his arrest, which led to the killing of him, and the second was arrested in the capital, Moscow.
