Organ transplant pioneer Jean-Michel Dubernard dies at the age of 80

Professor of Medicine Jean-Michel Dubernard, one of the world's pioneers in organ transplantation, who performed the world's first hand transplant in 1998, died in Turkey at the age of 80 years old.

Today, Monday, Radio France International reported that Professor Dobernard died due to a sudden health illness that occurred at Istanbul Airport while traveling with his family.
