Nigerian Senate approves 74.7 billion naira for police support

The Nigerian Senate has approved the allocation of more than 74 billion and 773 million Nigerian naira for the development of the Police Trust Fund, following consideration of a report prepared by the Senate and House of Representatives Joint Committee on National Police Affairs in the country.


In comments reported by local newspapers, the Chairman of the Senate Police Affairs Committee, Dauda Haliro Gika, indicated that the budget of the Police Trust Fund for 2021 is the second since the law establishing the fund was passed in 2019.


The Nigerian MP gave a detailed statement on the state’s general budget during the current fiscal year and the renewable revenues since the end of 2020; Which totaled over 23 trillion Nigerian naira.
