The Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament calls on French companies to invest in his country


The Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Muhammad al-Halbousi, called for the opening of a headquarters for the French Development Agency in Baghdad.

According to Alsumaria news channel, today, Wednesday, Al-Halbousi discussed with the President of the French Senate Gerard Larcher in Paris the relations between the two countries and the strengthening of strategic cooperation in the field of economy, investment and security. To fight the terrorist organization (ISIS).

He stressed the importance of Iraq's security and economic support in order to achieve stability, calling for expanding the participation of French companies in investing in Iraq, and accelerating the implementation of strategic projects agreed upon between the two countries, in addition to the need to open a headquarters for the French Development Agency in Baghdad to facilitate the provision of economic support to Iraq.

For his part, the President of the French Senate expressed his country's readiness to provide political, economic and security support to Iraq, pointing to France's readiness to provide its experience, support with ideas and consultations for the formation of the second legislative chamber in Iraq, and the continuation of cooperation to combat extremism and terrorism, and to contribute to a greater role for reconstruction and reconstruction in Iraq. He stressed that France is making efforts to enhance cooperation between the two countries.
