Putin discusses with members of the Russian National Security Council the results of his talks with Biden


Today, Friday, Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed with the permanent members of the Russian National Security Council the results of his talks with US President Joe Biden, which took place in Geneva, June 16.


At the beginning of his meeting with the permanent members of the Russian National Security Council, according to the Kremlin press service, the Russian president said: “We have many issues that we need to discuss in a practical and planned manner, as well as many current urgent issues, but I suggest that we begin to analyze the results of our meetings in Geneva with the President of the United States.


During the meeting, the Russian President asked Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to start this discussion.


The Russian and American presidents held their first summit on June 16 in Geneva, where they discussed many outstanding problems between the two countries and agreed to launch a comprehensive bilateral dialogue on strategic stability.



On the other hand, Russian President Vladimir Putin today congratulated António Guterres on his re-election to the post of Secretary-General of the United Nations.

"I am sure that your activity will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the United Nations mechanisms," Putin said - in his congratulations, according to the (Russia Today) news channel.
