Learn about the most important regulations for Hajj this year in light of the Corona pandemic

Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, Saudi Minister of Health and Deputy Minister of Hajj, Dr. Abdel Fattah Mashat, reviewed the controls and mechanisms of Hajj this year, during a press conference held a short time ago, according to what Al Arabiya reported.

He specified from 18 to 65 years as the permissible age for Hajj this year, provided that the number is limited to 60 thousand pilgrims, and the pilgrims are immunized with the vaccine, and all workers in the Hajj season are also immunized with the vaccine.

Priority for accepting pilgrims will be for those who have not performed Hajj before, and there will be places designated for sanitary isolation.

The Minister of Health indicated that one of the most important reasons for the decision to limit the pilgrimage to the interior only is the lack of sufficient vaccines and the emergence of mutations of the virus.

He stressed that in response to the warnings of the outbreak of the epidemic during human gatherings, a model was developed that takes into account the highest levels of health protection.

In a related development, the Council of Senior Scholars in Saudi Arabia confirmed, on Friday, that the decision to shorten Hajj this year is successful in preserving people’s lives. Bahrain, the Emirates, Kuwait and Egypt also welcomed the restriction of Hajj this year to citizens and residents within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
