Euro 2020 .. Southgate: We seek to write history against Germany

England coach Gareth Southgate confirmed that his country is able to make history against Germany at Euro 2020 and achieve victory and qualification, when they meet tomorrow, Tuesday, at Wembley Stadium, in the round of 16 of Euro 2020.

"We have players born in the 2000s, which is clearly scary but it's the reality of the group we're dealing with," Southgate said during the match's press conference.

"It has no consequences for what we did, you know, Peter Bonetti in 1970 and what happened in 1990 and so forth, of course, they watch these things and they get a little bit of an understanding of it but that's not something we talk to them about."

He continued, "This team has given a lot of historical performances in the past two years, and the players made their own history, made their own stories, and this is how they should watch this match."

He continued: "It's an opportunity, we only won a knockout match in the European Championship as a country, so they have a great opportunity to go on and be the first team since 1996 to achieve that."

He concluded: "We must be good enough to beat Germany, who have a very good team, they have gone through a very strong group in the first countries and we have to be at our best to win the match."
