Denmark summons Russia's ambassador over allegations of Russian fighter jets violating its airspace

Today, Monday, the Danish Foreign Ministry summoned the Russian ambassador in Copenhagen to the ministry headquarters, against the background of allegations that Russian warplanes violated Danish airspace last Friday.

In a statement reported by Russia Today, Danish Foreign Minister Yebi Kofod said: "Russian fighters' violation of Danish airspace twice is a serious and unacceptable violation and violates international laws."

According to the statement, the foreign minister, who will attend the NATO summit in Brussels, is scheduled to discuss the incident with his colleagues from the alliance countries.

This step came - according to the channel - after the Danish Ministry of Defense claimed - earlier - that Russian fighters violated the country's airspace twice within one day.
