11 people arrested in connection with drug smuggling networks in Morocco


Today, Wednesday, the Moroccan security authorities arrested 11 people, including two citizens of Romanian nationality and a third of Albanian nationality; for their illegal residence in Morocco, and for their suspected association with a criminal network active in international drug smuggling.

A statement by the General Directorate of Moroccan Security stated that the arrest of the suspects took place during a security operation that was carried out in a residential "villa" in a tourist resort on the outskirts of Tangiers. of chira "sheets" prepared as samples for presentation to the presumed distributors of this criminal activity at the international level.

The statement indicated that the inspections - which were carried out within the framework of this operation - resulted in the seizure of five cars with Moroccan plates, the legal status of which is being verified, and the seizure of a group of mobile phones and sums of money in Moroccan and foreign currencies suspected of being the proceeds of this criminal activity.

All those involved were kept under guard, at the disposal of the Public Prosecution, in order to reveal the possible extensions of this criminal activity and to identify the rest of the alleged perpetrators locally and internationally.
