The Saudi Foreign Ministry expresses the Kingdom's rejection of the Israeli plans to evacuate Palestinian homes in Jerusalem

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed Saudi Arabia's rejection of what was issued regarding Israel's plans and measures to evacuate Palestinian homes in Jerusalem and impose Israeli sovereignty over them, according to a Saudi embassy press release.

The Ministry stressed that the Kingdom condemns any unilateral measures, any violations of the resolutions of international legitimacy, and all that may undermine the chances of resuming the peace process to achieve security and stability in the region.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs renewed its stand with the Palestinian people, and supported all efforts aimed at reaching a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue, enabling the Palestinian people to establish their independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with international legitimacy decisions and the Arab Peace Initiative.

In a related development, the European Union said that the situation regarding the evacuation of Palestinian families in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood and other areas of East Jerusalem raises serious concern, and these actions are illegal under international humanitarian law and lead to fueling tensions on the ground.

The Palestine News Agency quoted a statement issued by the official spokesman for the European Commission for Foreign Affairs and Security, Peter Stano, regarding the escalation of tensions and violence in Jerusalem over the past days, as tensions and violence escalated in the occupied West Bank, especially in East Jerusalem, dangerously.
