The Director of Global Health announces the organization's readiness to support the governments of the Congo and Rwanda

Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director of the World Health Organization of the United Nations, announced the readiness of the United Nations to support the governments of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda, as the area near Mount Nyiragongo is witnessing the eruption of the volcano and the displacement of thousands from the region to the border with Rwanda.

"My thoughts are with the people of the Democratic Republic of the Congo who live near Mount Nyiragongo volcano. The World Health Organization stands ready to support the governments of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda as needed," the WHO director said in his tweet.

And General "Konstant Ndima", the military governor of North Kivu province, northeastern Congo, said that more than 7 thousand people crossed the border into Rwanda, but they began to return to the city.
