The Sudanese Prime Minister pledges to solve the West Darfur problem as soon as possible

The Governor of West Darfur, Muhammad Abdullah Al-Duma, said that he discussed the problem of West Darfur with the Sudanese Prime Minister, Dr. Abdullah Hamdok, who affirmed his commitment to solving the problem as soon as possible.

The Sudanese Council of Ministers stated, in a statement this evening, Tuesday, that the Prime Minister was informed of the security situation in the state of West Darfur (West Sudan), especially the recent events that the state has witnessed during the past days and until today, when he met today in Khartoum with the governor of West Darfur.

Al-Duma said that forces were sent to end the clashes and impose security, explaining that the decisions taken by the Sudanese Defense and Security Council yesterday will contribute to establishing security in El Geneina (the capital of West Darfur).

And to West Darfur, he referred to imposing a state of emergency in the state, explaining that activating the security forces ’authorization to use force against the unemployed and providing them with the means, will contribute to establishing security, adding that he informed the Prime Minister about the food and humanitarian situation of the displaced.
