The German Confederation announces the start of negotiations with Flick to formally succeed Loew

The German Football Association said it would hold negotiations with coach Hans Flick regarding Flick taking over the position of coach of the national team, and Flick's contract with Bayern Munich will be terminated after the end of the season on June 30, at his request, after his original contract extended until 2023, Julian Nagelsmann, the current coach of Leipzig, will assume the role of coaching Bayern, succeeding Flick.

Hans Flick is considered the most prominent candidate to train the German national team, succeeding Joachim Loew, who will leave after the end of Euro 2020, noting that he previously worked as an assistant to Luff in the machine team from 2006 until the crowning of the 2014 World Cup, and then took over the position of director of the German Football Association.

The DFB confirmed: "Flick is known to have a high position with the German Football Association and is an amazing candidate as coach of the national team. We can confirm this. We will now hold talks with Hans Flick and Bayern officials."

In a related context, Bayern Munich has contracted Julian Nagelsmann, 33, as a new technical director, as the Bavarian giant announced through his official website and account via Twitter his contract with his new young coach.

Nagelsmann, born in Bavaria, will move from Leipzig to Munich at the start of the next season on July 1, 2021, and the agreement with the German record champion will last for five years until June 30, 2026.

The Bavarian said in his statement that Bayern had agreed to Hanse Flick's request and terminated the current coach's contract, which was supposed to last until June 30, 2023.

And the Bayern statement continued: Julian Nagelsmann represents a new generation of coaches despite his young age, he had a wonderful career, we are convinced that with Julian Nagelsmann we will build on the great successes of the past few years.

Bayern president Herbert Heiner said: "I would like to expressly thank Hansi Flick on behalf of Bayern Munich, who led our team in a difficult stage in 2019, then won six titles, and we hope that the seventh will soon follow. He has all the best for his future.
