The Algerian president decides to extend the deadline for candidacy for the legislative elections until Tuesday


Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune signed a presidential decree extending the deadline for candidacy for early legislative elections scheduled for June 12 for a period of 5 days.

The Algerian presidency stated in a statement today, Thursday, “that at the request of the Independent National Authority for Elections, and after consulting the State Council and the Constitutional Council and taking the opinion of the Council of Ministers, President Tebboune signed an order amending and completing Order No. 01-21 of March 10, which contains the law relating to the election system, which provides for an extension The filing of candidacy files for the legislative elections scheduled for June 12 was delayed for a period of 5 days.

The statement added that with this decree, the deadline for submitting candidacy papers will be next Tuesday, April 27 instead of today.
