Radio Prague International: Czech Health Minister Jan Platney sacked

Radio Prague International reported that the Czech Minister of Health, Jan Platny, was dismissed from his post today, Wednesday, and he is the third person to occupy this position during the Coronavirus pandemic.


The radio quoted Platney as saying at a press conference today that he is clear of conscience because he has done his duties well, describing his dismissal as a "political decision."


The radio indicated that the Czech President, Milos Zeman, is scheduled to appoint a new minister of health today, and it is expected that the position will be assigned to Peter Arrenberger, the current director of the Vinohrady University Hospital.
