Liverpool condemns racism against Keita after losing to Real Madrid

The English club Liverpool issued an official statement rejecting all racist violations on social media, in response to what the Guinean star, Naby Keita, was exposed to by the Reds fans, after losing to Real Madrid with a score of 1-3 in the first leg of the 8th round of the Champions League.

Liverpool fans described Guinean Naby Keita as a "monkey" on the social networking site "Twitter", after the Reds lost to Real Madrid yesterday.

In its statement, the club said, "Once again, unfortunately, we discuss the abhorrent racial assault the morning after a football match. It is totally unacceptable and must stop."

“Liverpool condemns all forms of discrimination and we continue to work with our inclusion partners through our Red Together initiative,” he added.

He continued, "As a club, we will provide our players with all the support they may need, and we will also work with the relevant authorities to identify those responsible and prosecute them if possible."

He explained, "We know that this will not be sufficient until the strongest preventive measures are taken by the social media platforms and the regulatory bodies that govern them."

The Reds concluded their statement, saying, "The current situation cannot be allowed to continue and we must all make sure that it does not continue."

The Liverpool team lost to Real Madrid 1-3 yesterday, Tuesday, in the first leg of the 8th round of the European Champions League, at the "Alfredo Di Stefano" stadium, before the return round scheduled for next April 14, at "Anfield".
