How does reducing sugar intake contribute to your health and increase your life expectancy?

Diet plays a great role in increasing the average life span and improving the general health of people, especially among the elderly, given that a proper diet may work to enhance longevity and resist the stage of aging and its various diseases.

A report published on the Express website revealed that changing the pattern of eating habits is the keyword behind improving one's health, by implementing small regular changes that later become daily habits and rituals.

During the report, experts advised to reduce sugar intake, which leads to a reduction in the inflammatory effect of refined sugar on all cells, which reduces the risk of chronic diseases, and contributes to reducing obesity and its complications.

The report specified that added sugars are sugars that are added to foods during food processing, manufacturing or preparation. Excessive consumption of added sugars, especially sugar-sweetened drinks, has contributed to the spread of obesity at the global level.

The report also mentioned that one of the most important advice for longevity is to eat freshly cooked foods, and to avoid eating ultra-processed foods that lead to weight gain with all the medical problems associated with it.

Experts emphasized that ultra-processed foods increase the risk of many diseases such as cancer, diabetes and high blood cholesterol.
